    So i was sea kayaking, and the guide told us to head towards the ball of seagulls. they form a big bird ball above the school of fish and then the whales hear the commotion and head that way too.

    the first bird ball i came to, i got my kayak right in the center...and a humpback whale surfaced about the same time lifting my kayak off the water. it was a crazy moment.

    The guide laughed and said, "Don't even think about asking for a refund, you just had your whale experience of a lifetime."
