Possibe stupid question.
So I just got my 2 month old BP and unfortunately am unable to work. The reason I cant work is because of this stinky wrist cast that I have had on for 4 weeks. Now this thing smells horrible, I'm wondering if I should even hold my ball python until I get it off. This cast has to be harboring bacteria and the last thing I want is my bp getting sick or infections.

I kind of doubt there's anything really harmful, but that's up to you. You could always hold him with the other hand.

Re: Possibe stupid question.
most bacteria is species specific (some are'nt ie: salmanella, e.coli wich are transmited through fecal matter) I wouldnt worry to much about it.

That's a good question. I also wouldn't THINK it'd do any harm, but I know those things can get pretty nasty since my brother had two just recently. I doubt even you would catch anything from it though so not sure your ball would either.
Just to be on the safe side if you're worried also maybe put something over it if you really wanna hold him? Or yeah, use your other hand more so.

now do you guys ever hold yours during the day or do you wait till night time when there active? Cause hes always sleeping whenever I lift up his hide, and I dont want to wake him up. Its been about a week since I got him and he ate two days ago.

It's up to you if you hold him day or night. He could be more active at night but not neccesarily. It's fine either way so when ever you want to hold him. ANd don't worry about the cast.
