    Central Florida Wetlands...

Just recently did some field Herping and came across some stuff. For some reason I cant get a few pictures to cooperate but when I do they will be posted also... Thanks for looking...J

    10+ ft gator

    Hopper had it coming

    Pigmy

Yellow Rat Snake... She had an infection on her tail so I took her home. She ate 5 ASF pups over 5 weeks and loved it. My vet friend later amputated tail and she has since shed and been returned to her home.

Blue striped Florida Garter... Funny story with this one. I have not found one of these in a few years so I was reluctant when I took her home to be removing her. Well to my surprise midnight the night I got her home she gave birth to 19 babies. 11 alive and 8 undeveloped babies. I fed her a few fish and she even ate some ASF pups. Once she shed I returned her and all but 2 of her babies with her. I kept 1 male bright blue and 1 female bright teal.

    Whistling Duck

Herring...A friend of mine was fishing while herping and caught a few large mouths. This herring saw him catch them and then followed us for about 3 miles before losing interest.

Last but not least the Cara-Cara

Cool stuff! Love the pygmy and the blue garter. Where abouts in Central FL were you herping?
