    quick rack question

So I just finished building my rack and have flexxwatt running through it for heating and its controled by a helix thermostat. When I plug it in it turns on the heat tape and heats it up to the desired temp. But when it gets there I keep feeling the heat tape and its cold. Am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks

Check the temp with a thermometer, not your hand. Your extremities vary quite widely in temperature making it very hard to gauge temperature with your hands.

Make sure your flexwatt connections are wired correctly and plugged into the thermostat.

Everything should be wired fine and its plugged into the thermostat which is plugged into the wall. According to the helix it hasnt dropped below 90 degrees but with the back of my hand it doesnt feel like that.

Where is your thermostat probe located?

Use a THERMOMETER to measure the temperature, not your hand.

I will grab a thermometer but given the fact that its only 80 degrees here I feel I should be able to tell a 10 degree jump with sensitive skin. The thermostat probe is taped to the outside of the heat tape.
