Question...T+ Columbian Boas?

Not to sound ignorant but I'm a little confused. Someone I know was talking about some amazing T+ Columbians and I am not 100% certain of what this means or what they look like, or what use they are in breeding. I'm more of a Ball Python person, you see, and am a little in the dark.

And when I tried Google, I got a lot of totally confusing different things. Anyone have a clearer idea?

I have not heard of T+ columbians..but I've seen and heard of a lot of T+ dwarf boas. Argentine, nics, central americans, etc.

Well, maybe I misheard him...like I said I'm not very bright about Boas, only Balls...in the others, what does T+ mean?

They were more than likely talking about VPIs Caramel boas or t+s. More info at vpi.com.

Its short for T+ albino. Its like caramel albino in BPs. The enzyme is tyranazise? I cant spell it. Whereas T- albinos are normal albinos.

Here is a pic of one of my T+ Central American (Nic) boas:



From my understanding, the T+ morph allows some black pigment to come through, where the T- (normal albino) does not allow any black pigment through. I hope this helps.

I just purchsed a Boa Woman Caramel. She ate last night. I'll get pics up later this coming week.

The VPI caramels are not compatible with the Boa Woman caramels.

The normal albino boas(Kahl and Sharp lines) are T negative.

From what I've read the T+ Boas produce a reduced amount of melanin in their skin as they age, whereas T- doesn't produce any throughout their lives.
