True Indian Python

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get a true indian python (python molurus molurus) & not the python molurus pimbura?

I know they are classified as the same species but they are from different places,

The true indian python is from INDIA
& what people claim to be a true indian is from SRI LANKA

If you live in california there pretty easy to obtain. If not your more then likely going to have to obtain a cbw permit. There illegal to ship across state lines without one. Unless they are being given to you as a gift. I have a young male.

if there are breeders in your state that are allowed to breed them then you do not need a permit to purchase them. California has a few breeders that breed them. So people in ca do not need permits. There an endangered species so theres a bunch of rings you have to jump through to obtain one unless you have a breeder in state or recieve as a gift

okay so say for instance, you being out of state gave me $400 for my birthday, and your birthday which happened to be a week later i bought you the snake and shipped it to you and it totaled $400. Would that be legal? I mean i understand thats kinda sneaky and am not volunterring/saying to do this, im just asking if we could get pinned for that

the person recieving the snake can pay for shipping. the animal has to be a gift and the owner has to be able to prove that if they ever have to. i paid for my animals shipping and its microchip and i have receipts from the breeder stating thats what i paid for and stating the animal was a gift. but i believe the person giving the snake needs to have a cbw permit unless he purchased from abreeder in state and can prove it. check out fish and games website and you can look over cbw information. just remember proof is everything.
