    I don't get it...

I don't get people at all when it comes to seeing a snake on your facebook profile. I posted regular pictures of Monte (not eating) and then some of my friends asked me for pictures of him eating so I posted them with a disclaimer "WARNING SNAKE EATING MOUSE IN THE PHOTOS, DON'T LOOK IF IT IS GOING TO BOTHER YOU OR GROSS YOU OUT!", even with that I get nasty posts from one individule who states that she is removing me as a friend so she doesn't have to subject herself to that again. I don't get it...BIG WARING and yet you look and then yell at me because you didn't like what you saw. I swear some people are just plain stupid!

‘We all operate in two contrasting modes, which might be called open and closed. The open mode is more relaxed, more receptive, more exploratory, more democratic, more playful and more humorous. The closed mode is the tighter, more rigid, more hierarchical, more tunnel-visioned. Most people, unfortunately spend most of their time in the closed mode.’

    Re: I don't get it...

I've never had that issue, all my friends love my snake photos, even the ones who don't like snakes.

I think Zeus gets more photo comments than me sometimes. xD.

I think its because they see that they're just like any other pet to me, I take them to the park, go for car rides with them, I'm constantly giving them eskimo kisses, etc. They see how harmless and sweet snakes can really be.

It just amazes me that you put up a warning and they pay no attention and then yell at you for not paying attention. I tried the whole explaining the circle of life thing but she is just too against it for it to matter. My response was...

Huh. I have never had a problem. Then again, I am not friends with people I don't consider friends..

    Re: I don't get it...

Neither am I, this person knows that I have a snake and has never said one bad thing but then freaks out and starts posting all kind of nasty things. The fear that people have of snakes amazes me, but I do understand it as well. I would expect or tolerate this reaction better if I had brought her into my house and then fed Monte while she watched but they were just pictures with a disclaimer...

Some people are just stupid. Don't let it bother you. If people don't want to see it then they shouldn't look at it. If they comment about how appalling it is then they are just trying to start something.

    Re: I don't get it...

The same thing happens on art websites. If an artists posts work and has a "mature content warning" for say, excessive gore, or same-sex pairings or something, someone is pretty much guaranteed to pop up and say "EW U R GROSS WUTS RONG WITH U" etc etc.

There's a state park here that has a taxidermy exhibit of some turkey vultures eating a dear carcass. You can see a tiny bit of guts but really nothing bad. One woman approached an employee and totally went off on her, saying that she thought it was a family institution and she didn't want her son seeing that. The employee explained that they showed it as a part of nature and only for educational purposes, and asked what she told her son when he saw roadkill on the side of the road. The woman responded "I tell him the deer is sleeping." People disgust me.

lol people know better than to do that on any of my photos, the verbal lashing they would get would send them into a stupor of total humiliation in front of the rest of their facebook "friends" haha

perhaps you should insult her little fuzzy yappy lap dog, then ask her how it feels, then tell her to get bent and delete her. assuming she hasnt deleted you already, in which case just send all that as message lol
