    First Feed. Need help.

I have a juvenile about 13 inches or more. Iv had her for a week, tried to give her a first feed and she dident take it. I just held onto it infront of her with long tweezers. So i know to try again in another week but is it better to just leave it on the substrate, leave it for 1 hr and go back and check on it, rather that holding it? Maybe she will be more comfortable that way first few times? Any help is appreciated!!

You can try leaving it in over night. Were you trying to feed live or f/t?

Don't go to long with trying to force them to eat f/t, it's more important to get hatchlings to eat and then trying to switch them over once they are older and can go a little while without food.

I have a couple snakes that will not take food off hemostats or from my hand. I have to drop in in their tank and leave it in there for a bit. Usually when I come back to check in an hour or so, it is gone. I even do this with frozen thawed. Just lay it in there and they will swallow it up.
