    feeding what do i do?

I have a 2 month old het albino who will eat, but she hasn't ate for me. She strikes and bites the frozen thawed hopper mice but never raps and eats. She wont eat off the bottom of the tube tube either. I am really trying to make sure she takes frozen but should i give her live mouse now?

When she bites she often make the legs and tale separate from they mice, and even makes the stomachs burst.

    Hi,

    Couple of things stick out.

Those sound like defensive strikes not feeding strikes so it may be a good idea to run through your husbandry to see if there is anything that might be tweaked to make the snake more secure or likely to eat.

Secondly, it sounds like you may be defrosting the mouse incorrectly and actually cooking it slightly. They really should be able to withstand a strike from a 2 month old ball python without disintigrating.

Can you give us a description of housing and how you defrost?

Re: feeding what do i do?

I house in a ap 32 economy rack. I was using newpaper switched to aspin this week. Tem is 93 constant at the hot spot each level has it own individual thermometer. i the them thaw in cold water and use a blow dryer to heat a little just before feeding. I also have used hot water just before feeding seems like blow dryer works best for me.

i was thinking of sizing down to shoe box tubs insted of the 16 quarts they are in now. I figured they were defensive because if she is at the front of the tube and i walk by u can hear the thump of her striking. or as i slide the tube open she will just strike at the air.
