Head is out but still no color?
It's day 68 and I finally got one head out.
But, from the look of things, only his head has a color and his body is still pink. I looked at other people's pipping pictures but nobody has the same stupid cut-job so I can't see beyond the head part to know if my baby's lack of coloration is normal for that stage of development?

What you're seeing in that picture without color is the underside of the snake.
Looks like a cute little normal.

Yeah, the head is black with brownish pattern so definitely a wild-type. The spider dad has only a little black on the head.
I'm excited. We don't have a wild-type! So, this would be a great addition to our pets! That is, if he comes out okay. Still not out of the woods, I don't think... with all the problems we got.

Aww. He is a cutie though. Good luck with them!

Agreed. The head is completely normal. If the color wasn't in yet the head would be washed out too.

Re: Head is out but still no color?
S/he is sooo cute! I would light the flashlight onto the eggbox and she would twist her head this way and that - seems like she's trying to figure out if it's an alien abduction or something. LOL. She's a brave one, I think, because she doesn't hide back inside the egg when I light the eggbox up.
I think we'll name her Freedom. You know, from Braveheart... "Frreeeeddddooommm!!!". LOL.

Re: Head is out but still no color?
Okay guys, it's starting to really get frustrating.
The 2nd snake FINALLY got his head out as well but he's even worse! He has no color at all! Not even on the head! ARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHH!!!!!!!!!

Still just a camera phone - an iPhone even, one of the worst camera phones out there. So sorry if this is not good quality picture. But, trust me, there is no color on that kid... maybe a very very very light yellow kinda thing but mostly pink all over - including the head.

There's got to be something I'm doing wrong! Temps at 88.5 running steady, humidity at all time HI on the accurite. Lots of moisture buildup - as in - dripping down, but I got the lid tilted a very slight bit so it is not falling on the eggs themselves - which is a moot point because I've been flushing the eggs with saline except for the last 2 days when I stopped doing that because I'm out of saline.
I punctured 2 good-sized holes on the tupperware lid because I got Freedom out of his egg. By the way, my husband had to untangle Freedom last night because his yolk sack thing was wrapped around his body. But he is still doing good... still half-way out, not all the way out, probably because he still has a bit of the yolk sack still hanging off his belly.
I brought up bringing this whole tub of eggs to the vet last night with my husband but he thinks at this point, he doesn't think the vet would do anything other than what we're doing. I told him we weren't ready for this! He told me I'm a drama queen. So yeah, it's a stressful situation.
