Want to handle my new boy!!

Im sure that this sort of thing has been posted a bunch of times already...but I just got my pastel yesterday and he has been kicking back in his enclosure since he came home...I wanna get him out soooo bad and handle him!! I know, I know...I gotta give him a chance to acclimate.

Whats the shortest amount of time that you all gave your snake before handling it? He has been taking meals at his previous residence so I know he's down for chow...

Honestly.. I don't really go by that rule. When I first got into Balls I would wait 5 days, but I don't now. I honestly haven't seen a difference but I also know how to handle a picky eater now. Then again, I don't handle them for more then 2-5 minutes, as before, I handled them for a good 20-30 minutes at a time. I guess it really just depends on what you feel comfortable doing.

I will admit, I've been handling my baby cinny every day since I brought him home. Of course, the fact that he ate the day we brought him home makes me much more confident of his comfort level. He's been using his hide the last few days, so I know he's starting to feel more at home.

Re: Want to handle my new boy!!

I decided not to take him out yesterday...I was suprised though when I went into the room he was out of his hide and exploring the tank again. When I went over to him he climbed up on his water dish coiled back and just looked at me for a while...seemed like he was wanting to eat? so right now Im thawing a mouse and we'll see if I can get my newest addition to take his first meal for me...
