Sorry for the gross nature of the post I'm trying to be as accurate as possible. If you have a weak stomach it's probably best to stop reading now.
Our 2.5 year old husky started having diarrhea last night. She had diarrhea three times inside, and twice outside starting at about 8.00pm. It happens occasionally so we took care of her like we always do when she gets sick and did the usual nightly routine and went to bed. We woke up this morning to explosive diarrhea all over our downstairs and a pile of throw up. One of our friends was sleeping over and put Kaiya [our husky] in her kennel for the night and that's where all the "damage" was done. She never does anything in her kennel but sleep so that's how we know it's bad. We haven't seen her like this since we got her from the shelter we adopted her from and she was very sick when we got her. We already have a vet appointment but it's not until 3.00pm and it's currently 10.45am. It's the earliest we could get in and we don't know of any emergency type places that aren't an hour away and Kaiya gets really really stressed out on long car rides and the last thing I want to do right now is stress her out more.
We think she may have gotten in the trash or on the counter before they put her in the kennel [she's sneaky like most huskies] because in the throw up and some of the poo there was chunks of tomatoes and we had some queso dip. Is there anything we can do before the vet visit to help her? She's drinking water now and laying down after her bath and just relaxing. I want her to be ok.![]()
