Good news and bad news...
First, the bad news - I think one of my eggs is a boob. There was one at the bottom that was questionable, as I wasn't sure if I saw veins when I candled them last week... today I checked on the clutch, and that egg had some mold on it. So I candled it again, and definitely cannot see any veins (it looks bright yellow inside). The mold was starting to spread to the other eggs, so I used a dry paper towel to gently wipe it away. Is that all I should do, or should I try to remove it? Six of the seven eggs are pretty well stuck together, so I'm guessing it would be risky to remove it. But will this hurt the others, and how do I keep the mold from spreading? Most of what I read on the forum says to leave it alone, and maybe add some anti-fungal powder to stop the mold... guess I'll do that, unless somebody has better ideas.
As for the good news, I candled the rest of the eggs & they're all great! I also saw the first movement in an egg, which was so exciting... the one that's sitting alone was easy to candle, and I could see the little snakie moving and thumping around. I was like an expecting mother, seeing her baby's heartbeat for the first time - soooo proud. Hopefully they will stay healthy, and the "boob egg" won't hurt them with mold. We're on day 26 now, so keep your fingers crossed!
P.S. I'm still having a little trouble with the temps, and they seem to be stuck on around 90.5... will that be okay, and how much earlier should they hatch at that temp?
