    G Stripe Qs

Sorry for the probably stupid questions....

I haven't seen many adult pictures but some I have seen it looks like the stripes fade into the surrounding scales , so they don't look very stripey but still very neat ... Is this how they all are they all fade? Or just maybe ones that didn't have a strongly defined stripe to begin with?

Also can a broken stripe produce full stripes? Like how low white pieds can produce high white pieds and vice versa.

I cannot help you about the producing of full/broken stripes etc, as i neither have nor bred a g stripe before

However....The G stripe that i see on a weekly basis at a friends house, thhe stripe doesnt appear to have faded that much to be honest. He is a big boy now too

The crisp black border fades somewhat on all adult GStripes, as for the perfect and/or broken stripes, you can produce perfect stripes from broken striped parents just like perfect striped parents can also produce broken striped offspring...

This is somewhat true, but not completely.

I have a complete stripe male that has not thrown any broken stripes yet..

The inclination seems to be Complete Stripes produce a majority of Complete, and Broken produce a majority of Broken.

But there can be the outliers.

    Re: G Stripe Qs

Can't wait until I finally produce stripes to start experimenting with.

Years ago I saw a clutch of baby stripes from a very nicely striped pair and ALL of the babies had a lot of side pattern (almost looked like normals). It's been long enough now that I don't remember for sure but I think I heard the next clutch from the same pair where ALL much better stripes than any of the first clutch. So it all got me wondering if there is an environmental trigger of some sort. I threw incubation temperature out as a possibility but I think it was Corey Woods who said he had tried tweaking that and not found a correlation between incubation temp and stripe quality.
