Care info I cant find.....
I have made the decision to get a Rose Hair T. and have read alot of care sheets and general info, but there are some questions I have about the husbandry.
How often do you clean the entire cage out ?
How much of the enclosure gets covered in webs and when do you remove them...just when you clean the cage out ?
I know the humidity numbers, but should the substrate be moist...since they will burrow it seems like a sticky substrate would be harder to dig in, or not, I dont know for sure. Or does the humidity come from something like a patch of moss or someting ?
And I read that I should use a UTH to provide heat...should the UTH be placed at one end to create a warmer spot, or the center to distribute the heat evenly ?
And I found a beauty of a cage...its 14Lx8Wx5.25T, that seems to be a good size but wanted to ask to be sure.

feel free to share anything else you have learned from experience that I may need to know, because I will not purchase any animal until I am 200% sure I can care for it properly.
Thanks in advance.

I found a 20Lx10Wx6T version of that tank that may be better ? Not sure wich of the two would work better, the other seems a bit short.

Re: Care info I cant find.....
Grammostola rosea like substrate bone DRY. They will try to scale the walls of the enclosure if the substrate is moist/wet.
In my experience, G.rosea don't burrow, they just sit there.
Do NOT use an under tank heater! Tarantula's don't need an external heat source, as long as room temp is 65 or higher.
You won't have to clean the entire cage out very often, tarantulas don't defecate much, and are relatively clean.
This species, again in my experience, will not web much, mainly when about to molt, during the construction of a molt web.
The original enclosure you linked would be fine.
I've kept dozens and dozens of rose hairs, as well as over 100 other species of T's.
Good luck!

A little more reading and I should be prepared to pick one up next month
How cool would it get? If it doesn't dip below 60, I wouldn't use a heat lamp (I personally wouldn't ever). But if you choose too, keep an eye on the temps, you may end up with a fried tarantula.
Tarantulas handle cold much better than heat, albeit Chile is a land of temperature extremes.

Re: Care info I cant find.....
Ive never applied heat to anything smaller than my 75 gallon glass tank...so maybe Im just thinking it will be tougher to keep warm than it actualy will be.
