    Cool side question

So, I know the temp for the hot side is like 89-92 and for the cool is 82-85. Do you have a heat pad under the cool side? Or do you have nothing? I plan on having a heat pad and a heat lamp for the hot side.

Hey, i'm a newb but I saw you got no answers yet so I thought I'd add my two cents in...

I started off my setup with a uth (heat pad) under the hot side and a nocturnal red heat lamp on a dimmer on my cool side. I needed a heat source on the cool side because my house is kept way to cold to maintain the proper cool side temps. That setup worked great for the temps but the lamp was killing my humidity.
So yesterday I just went out and got one of the zoo med mini uth's for my cool side. I got rid of the lamp all together and now I just have a large uth under the hot side on a thermostat and a mini uth for the cool side on a rheostat. So far its working well. Hope this helps!

It really depends on the size and type of your enclosure, as well as the room temperature. If it is a fish tank around 20 gallons, then generally no, you should not need a UTH on the cool side. I have a 20g with a 7" (approx) UTH on one side and its fine. I also have a melamine enclosure that I built and for that I have an 11" flexwatt strip and a 30g-rated UTH both on one side. What is it that you have?
