pvc or abs rack?

hey everyone, I rarely ever post Im more in the doing the reading and research stage lol but I want to build a rack out of abs or pvc and wanted to know which is cheaper and which will last longer, I may go with abs but not sure, also what thickness should I use?
( I plan to do a simple RBI or Boaphile design)
