Hissing

My Bps heating pad broke so his temperature was probably about 70 for just over a day I got a new one now it's back up to 80 but now he keeps hissing for no apparent reason I checked him out and he seems fine can anyone guess why he keeps hissing.

have u moved him since the heat went out?
when is ur feeding day?

i suggest stop checking him. if the husbandry is good leave him alone. do not add to the stress. he must not be happy

Pretty sure it's hissing I just checked him once I can hear him from my bed.
Haven't moved him Feeding was day before yesterday the 8th but he didn't eat because I think he was to cold.

if nothing has changed since u turned his heat back on dont worry. as long as the husbandry is still the same as before dont worry. he's prolly a lil pissy cuz he got a lil cold. let him sit for a week or so and dont bother him. once the husbandry returns to normal and he is happy he should be fine. just check for RI

Over 80? The heat pad should be over 90?

i keep my heatpads from 92-95, 80 is ok for now but try to bring it up. what r u using for a thermostat?

Don't have a thermostat but I cant keep it that high because he'll move the substrate and lay right on the glass which makes his belly turn pink.

He's probably going into shed or something. Handle him a bit, see if he's bitey, do a quick visual check to make sure he looks okay.

You really need to have a thermostat, or at least a rheostat or dimmer. If it is turning your snakes belly pink, then it is too hot. It is really easy to get a thermal burn.

Iv'e been toying with the idea of cutting the power cord and putting in a dimmer switch but not sure if it would work.
