Calling on Any Medical expertise Pro or Amatuer

Okay I hate to air personal problem, but I need some help. I exhausted my sick days this year because I had to have sinus surgery. And saturday I came down with a stomach virus kindly donated by my roomate.

I stopped throwing up but I still have no appetite, cramps, weakness, and a fever that won't quit. I am using my vacation days up and am down to 2 vacation days left. Luckily I am off tomorrow. I gotta beat this thing and get back on the job.

My local doc just gave me the old plenty of rest line but nothing for the fever. I got some knock off tylenol but it's 7 years out of date. Hasn't killed me yet though.

Anybody got some fever fighting tips?

sweat it out bro. get yourself under a bunch of blankets, and stay warm. the colder you are the longer it will stay. drink plenty of fluids. especially gingerale if you are throwing up. it works wonders, makes you feel alive!! if you have any place that you can get chicken soup to-go at, have a friend go get you some, if not canned soup will do.

    get better!

Fever you need to sweat to break it out.

Bundle yourself up, and just wait it out. Eventually, you'll break a hard sweat, and once you do, wait about an hour, then take a hot shower.

Keep yourself from drafts, and stay away form air conditioner vents!

That same night, bundle up with a heavy blanket to sleep, the harder you sweat the better. This always works for me with a fever I cannot bring down.

The weakness is dehydration, same with the cramps. For that you need Gatorade. NO substitutes!!! Drink it in small sips, as much as you can hold down, as often as possible. You need a 16 ounce bottle at least every hour. Sure, you'll wee a lot, but your body desperately needs the electrolytes and sodium in the Gatorade to level out. Water is good, but you really need Gatorade.

I hope this helps you out.

Hadn't thrown up since saturday, only been drinking Sprite and Gatorade. I miss water.

I didn't think about sweating it out, good plan.

Overdose on Vitimine C. It raises your bodies PH and nothing can survive inside it. Take a 500mg pill every 12 hours.

Get some natural, REAL, licorice. Not twizzlers, but licorice with actual licorice root in it. I eat it whenever my stomach is feeling acidic or i have heartburn and it works for me. It might ease your stomach pains but you'll have to find some at a health food store. I hope it helps...
The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.

Chicken soup with a hint of lemon and salt.

Hell I even eat that whenever the opportunity comes, even if I'm not sick.

I would suggest getting new tylenol, lol. I can't say for sure how it's going to effect you being 7 years old, but it's definitely less effective.

I use stuff that's old, but if it's over 5 years I throw it out. I'd rather get something new and be sure it's doing what it's supposed to be doing.

Vitamin C, fruit smoothies, real vegetables, and (if it's an option) going to the gym and sweating it out. And rest. That's typically what I do when I get sick.

Yep, what they said. Rest as much as possible, sweat it out, drink plenty of fluids.
