Royal not pooping!?!?
Hey guys,
My royal has just started eating again after a few months of being completely off his food, after much persistance i finaly managed to get him to take a live mouse and have now weened him back onto frozen rats.
4 rats and 2 mice later he still hasn't pood only urinated.
Is there anything i can do about this?

Re: Royal not pooping!?!?
How big is the snake and how large are these meals?
If each one of those is a meal I would stop feeding and take it to a vet. Perhaps someone has more experience though.
Good luck.

A luke warm bath in the tub may help. With your snake not eating for a while it may take some time for his/her digestive system to start to wake up. I have read on forums here that if they do not eat for a while they shut down their digestive system to save energy being they are not ingesting any food. Give it time eventually he/she will leave you a nice deposit.

He's 5 ft mate,
They are rat weiners so not massive and have been feeding him every 3 days just to get his weight back up. I took him to a vet not so long ago and she tube fed him a couple times but said he was in good health.

Re: Royal not pooping!?!?
Nah, no need to vet him, or soak him, or whatever. A snake with an intestinal blockage/constipation of any sort would NOT be eating. If he's eating, then he's fine. Blockages cause nausea and discomfort--any animal with an intestinal blockage stops eating (and/or starts vomiting). Snakes can be remarkably efficient, and they don't always go as often as they eat. He'll leave you an enormous present one day, wait and see.
A snake that size can eat a lot of hopper rats before he has to go.

Seems pretty normal. If you're worried, run a lukewarm bath to about 2 or 3 inches and put him in. He'll probably "go".
 Dude, where did Bob go?

Re: Royal not pooping!?!?
No worries. This isn't a problem. I've got a Pied that hasn't eaten in about 7 weeks and he's still pooing. I don't know where it's coming from, but he's still active. I would think that if your snake is 5 ft long it's going to take a while to get that gut fully loaded again!
Good Luck!
