Re: Best Ranco Thermostat
In the nearby thermostat thread, this was recommended. It's the cheapest digital I've seen and I've heard it holds temps well. You may want to make sure you get something better if you're breeding. You'll need one for the incubator too, don't forget that. I believe this is well-trusted, but reptilebasics.com probably has better customer service. I've got my eye on this.

Re: Best Ranco Thermostat
If you're going to be breeding ball pythons, I'd argue that thermostats are one of your single most important purchases, ESPECIALLY when you buy one for your incubator.
I would recommend buying a Helix or Herpstat for your incubator (over $100 each) and the Ranco or Johnson's should be fine for your racks.
Don't go "cheap" when it comes to thermostats, you could end up paying dearly for that decision. JMHO.

Re: Best Ranco Thermostat
A johnson or Ranco will work fine on a rack, but you want a proportional thermostat for the incubator. Herpstat and Helix are both proportional.
The hydrofarm and reptitemp are good for one or two setups.
