How many of you guys use a pinkey pump

I was just wondering how many of you guys use pinkey pumps on your hatchlings that arnt eating. Also will the pinkey pump work on rat pups or just mice?

There is no reason to use a pinky pump on ball pythons. They can easily be assist fed if they don't eat on there own after a while. I usually will assist feed if they don't eat for a month. After 1 or 2 assist feedings they will eat fine on there own 99% of the time.

Re: How many of you guys use a pinkey pump

Hatched out over 1000 ball pythons, only ever had to assist feed one. A pinky pump defeats the whole purpose of getting an animal to eat on it's own. If it can't or won't eat on it's own, it isn't strong enough to survive.

Nope No pump here.. only had to assist feed a couple over the last few years. Most will start eating you just have to find that one little trigger for them.

    Sorry...

In all seriousness though, I've never felt it necessary to use pinky pumps. Like others have said, if a hatchling is having problems, some assistance usually works. I would be interested in hearing from people that have used them though.

I am sorry, but something stinks around here. I call it as I see it. NO WAY you have had 1k babies and only had to assist feed one.

That said, I don't think a pump is ever necessary with BP's

    Good day.
