    Makin' plain ol' hets

Well, I just wanted to share my first clutch of 2010 with you all, nothing fancy but still something to be happy about.

    VPI Axanthic x Normal

    The proud father

    Mom and her clutch

She wasn't too happy with me when I went for her eggs...

She gave me seven nice eggs and one slug. This is without the slug.

Now it's only 60 long days left...

Congrats! Man, that axanthis is beautiful! How old is he/big? He doesn't look browned out at all!

    He's a -08 and about 900 grams.

To be honest, the picture doesn't do him justice, he's even more silver/black with crisp contrasts. You should see him when he sheds...

Do all VPI's look that good when they get old? I'd love an Axanthic, but I'd hate for it and progeny to look normal for most of their lives.

There is only one solution to this injustice--more pics!

Seriously though, congratulations on the clutch, and he really is a beautiful boy. I hope that whenever I can get my hot little hands on an axanthic, that it'll hold its color as well as your boy!

    Re: Makin' plain ol' hets

From what I've heard, and seen for that matter, the VPI Axanthics doesn't tend to brown out as much as TSK and Joliff Axanthics.

I'll snap some more pics when he's newly shed. He will be the future star of my Snow project...

A good Axanthic doesn't really look normal even if they brown out a alot. You can still see the difference. It's just REALLY hard taking pictures of their true colors.

That is one good looking Axanthic!
