    Picked up some red aspen

Earlier I went into Petsmart to pick up some bedding for Jacoby my corn. I took a look at their reptiles as they had a normal corn labeled "Normal Corn Snake" and another corn that had a white and grey pattern. I am not sure of which type it was as I am no expert only owning one corn, but I did find humor in the price tag reading "Fancy Corn Snake". It reminded me of how they sell hamsters and other fury critters.

Anyway, I picked up some Fluker's brand red aspen and though I was skeptical it looks so awesome against Jacoby's colors ( Jacoby's a snow ). I've never seen this on the market before and just think it's worth checking out. They also had black. I like the colors because regular colored aspen doesn't look at natural to me, though it's wood colored. Kind of hard to explain, I hope you know what I mean.

When I get ahead I may switch the balls to black aspen. Right now they are on newspaper, but think they there colors would look more vibrant on black.

I didnt even know they had colored aspen, I know they have that sand stuff that people say not to use for beardies but it's cool that they also have colored aspen, I wonder if you can get crazy ones like blue and green

The black aspen looks a bit shiny and reminds me of broken plastic. I like the way it looks so much, regular aspen is so boring

Yay! Red aspen? I just picked up a bag of black, but I won't get to use it for a while! I'm very excited

I would totally mix the two colours if I found the red, ha!

Yes its safe thats the first thing i drilled the petsmart employee on. I told him if someting happen to babies i kno where he works lol but so far so good with me and i mix it on my hot side i got red aspen on my cool side i got plain aspen its a nice change for me because it brings a lil more life to your enclosure.

Re: Picked up some red aspen

Does it have red dye in it? I remember reading somewhere not to even feed mice food with red dyes because its harmful to the snake.

I'll go ahead and put out there I do not like fluker products from bad experiances with other products.

The bag states that the aspen is in fact colored naturally.

And I think mixing would be an awesome idea. If only I wasn't a broke azz sexual chocolate!
