I observed my snakes' behavior since I first got my rat. I kept my rat in my room and tried to see if there was a change in my snakes' behavior, like if they were in a feeding response when I go to pull them out of their tubs.
Some people get worried about having rodents in the same room as their snakes.
From what I've observed, every snake in my room (6 snakes) had no change in their behavior when I went in to get them out of their tubs. The two closest to my rat were my BCI and Kenyan Sand boa, but every time I took them out they were just fine and acted very calm.
This may not be the case for ALL snakes, but testing 6 of my snakes proved for me that the myth was not true.
I've always heard that a snake would be more aggressive if you had the room scented with rodents if you kept rodents in the same room. I guess that is most likely untrue![]()
