    Beardies and Bp's...

This may be a stupid question...but my bf has two baby bearded dragons. I was wondering if (maybe when they get a little bigger) beardies and bps get along or if it basically just all depends on the snake/lizards? I've seen pics of beardies and bps together, but i've also seen pics of dogs and bps together and personally wouldn't go that far with my bp. My bf is kinda scared that my bp would just eat his beardies, but as far as i know, both types of reptiles are known for being really well mannared, and of course i think my bp is the nicest snake in the world. (i'm sure most pet owners do.) So, do any of you think it'd be a bad idea for the three to hang around together? or would my bp for some reason think they're little reptile snacks?

I have seen many videos on YouTube where the bearded dragon shows aggression towards the ball python. I won't ever test it, I will just keep my seperate. I don't need them to be good friends.

    Re: Beardies and Bp's...

Since they both live in two completely different continents and are two entirely different species, I wouldn't risk it.

Bearded Dragon's like a basking spot of about 110F-120F, temperatures that would kill a BP in a matter of hours. They also live in a very dry climate, which a BP couldn't survive in. So, best to keep them separate. Either animal could attack each other.

totally understand about the climate thing...they're def all in diff cages and set ups. we were just wondering if we had to play with them separatly.
    thanks for the advice though!

To clarify, are you talking about like, handling the bp and beardie at the same time? or housing them together.

    There is a big difference.

Handling them at the same time should be fine, but I wouldn't let them canoodle together.

def just having both out of their cages and in the same room at the same time. i'm new at all this, but know enough not to try and house them together.

You can have them out at the same time, just keep them a safe distance apart. Don't let them crawl all over each other.

I have the snakes and the geckos and the dogs out together all the time. I just make sure everyone is a safe distance away from each other and it works out fine. I don't let any of my reptiles "roam" around (supervised) if there is any other species able to roam free as well. So no snakes or geckos out cruising when the dogs are in the room.

    Canoodle...too cute...

I have both as well and do not mix the two. You just never know...and both are VERY quick on the bite and hard to read sometimes right before. Now with that being said....I do let my dogs see the beardie and the snakes. But I am holding them and they get to sniff a couple times and get a lick out...that is it!! And like Kaorte....everyone gets to come out and roam....but it is just that species....dogs outside.
