    Cutting the Eggs

Saturday is the 52 day of incubation of my first clutch . One egg has dented but is is soft and squishy, the other eggs are still firm and haven't dented yet. Does anyone have any suggestions on cutting eggs? Cant wait to see whats inside

    Re: Cutting the Eggs

I like to wait till the first one pips. There are people that cut them open way to early. They seem to do ok, I feel it's better to wait.
I cut my first clutch open on day 52...I couldn't take it anymore...

I had two like that and I let them sit another few days - they still didn't dimple, so I went ahead and did a small clip, drained a little fluid and then cut a V about an inch and a half. The babies are fine, but I clipped because I was concerned with the eggs so tight, they might end up drowning in the egg being unable to to cut the egg themselves.
