anyone good with camera brands?
i had my canon Powershot SD850 and I LOVED the way it recorded the sound and video. unfortunately during my last Slipknot concert i dropped it while i was in THE PIT and now the lens wont retract but im thinking of sending it off to canon to get it fixed but they charged $125. i bought the SD1200 as a replacement thinking it'll be the same or even better. turns out i was wrong, the video came out great but think the camera caught too much of the bass and you can hear a lot of booming from the bass guitar. just 2 weeks ago i bought the powershot SX120 and just used it last night for the 1st time for the Kansas, Foreigner and Styx concert and the video came out EXCELLENT but the sound was like the SD1200, caught a lot of the bass. idk if it's because it catches sound very well, or I was too close to the speakers or maybe even the bass was too high.
my question is, who here knows of a GOOD DIGITAL camera like my SD850 that will record video AND sound well. doesnt have to be canon as long as it records well. I wanna be prepared for Iron Maiden next month! to give an example of sound difference:
SD850

SD1200

i'll put up a foreigner vid in a bit to show the sound/video quality of the SX120

Re: anyone good with camera brands?
I've always been a Canon guy. I recently just switched to the Nikon L110 which does HD video. I am very happy with the quality but have not used it in a concert setting. I will say though that it has the stereo mic placed on the top of the device, so it may just eliminate some of the bass. It does however pick up my heavy breathing.

Re: anyone good with camera brands?
I'm not a huge camera guy but I take my fujifilm Finepix s1000 to a ton of hiphop and rap concerts and the audio comes out pretty good... Just a thought If it can handle the bass of a rap show and still not come out to boomie it just might work for ya. xD its also a tank... I've dropped mine half a dozen times from face level (6 feet up) and it still works great!
