Got a question for you more expirienced

What do you guys use to disinfect your females after you take her eggs to incubate? I'm thinking of breeding this year if I'm satisfied with her weight. This will be my first breeding so I'm just trying to get all the info I'll need before I decide and set up my incubator.

I give them a quick bath with a mild handsoap, and disinfect the tub with Chlorhexidine.

Personally I soak/wash the female in warm water with a few drops of Johnson Baby Shampoo. I disinfect the tub and rack slot with a 10% clorox/water solution.

I use diluted blue dawn (put a little on my hands with water get it foamy and then wash the snake) on the female and chlorahexi on the tub.

When you wash her with anything I would caution about washing her head or face. I don't an I would be afraid she would ingest the soapy water if you do.

I do the same but also wash the tub with dishsoap before the chlorhex.

Hmm, I didn't use any soap because I wasn't sure which soaps would be safe. Anything that strips oil would be unsafe I would think??? Anyway. I took the tub outside and sprayed it out with the hose and wiped her down with a wet towel. She coiled up within an hour and ate like a monster two days later. I'm not saying my way is right, it's just what I did and it worked for me. She's had several meals since.

I just rinse them off well in the shower with luke-warm water (no soap) and dry them with a towel. I wash the tub and bowl with 1/10 bleach/water solution, rinse WELL and dry.

same as above but I also wash the head and the rest of the snake. This was also in the snake keepers video (with dawn dish soap). Reason for washing is to get the egg smell off of the snake and out of the enclosure. if you don't wash the head you might miss some that could keep it off feed.

I just wipe them and the tub down with a damp paper towel. They seem to go back to eating with in a week usually.
