Ah nuts - Salome finally laid.

    Hi,

Not the result I was hoping for but it could have been worse.

    At first I was all

    Then I was all

We're not out of the woods yet as the three eggs don't exactly have the strongest veins I've seen but Time might fix that.

I had planned to use some big new egg boxes and rigid plastic grate but it hardly seemed worth filling a big box with only three small eggs and the plastic grate hasn't arrived yet.

So cobbled together from available junk it is.

The two that are stuck together are the first two I have had that I didn't feel comfortable seperating but the third one was stuck to a slug initially so I had to find some way of stopping it rolling about that was easy to clean and moisture proof - I found an old cocktail stirrer so thought I would see how that works out.

Mama is down to 1768g and is now washed and back in her disinfected tub - I will try a small rat tonight but the excitement will probably prevent her eating.

This is my second clutch of 2010 so far and I think I felt small marble sized follicles in Cleo last night.

Just hoping I get better viability odds as I'm sitting at 7 good eggs from 13 items laid so far.

Gratz on the clutch. I know you were hoping for something better but three little eggs is still 3 great little eggs! I hope you get great odds on them.

    Thanks,

I'm wondering if it was because the only confirmed lock I saw with her was with my normal male and that was back in December?

I did pair her up with the lesser and the little black pastel ( bless his little cotton socks ) but never saw a lock from either of them.

Or maybe the lesser needs to switch from briefs to

As it's her first clutch for me though I think I'll be happy with a healthy snake.

Congrats on the eggs Derek, hope you get a Black Pastel girl out of it (since you already have a female lesser )
