Is this really a super dwarf?
I've been debating on getting a male SD retic to keep as a pet, and most that I have seen are more dark than the one in this link. Do you think it really is a SD? Has anyone ever dealt with these guys before?

I know he's not favored by a lot of people
He's the guy you see cutting eggs open and then scooping the babies out with his hands

Re: Is this really a super dwarf?
Super dwarfs are naturally darker than the other subspecies, but there are some examples of lighter colored one (here is my sd as an example http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/a...2-26-09001.jpg. The pic shown in the add looks like an average SD retic to me, and the description says 100%.
My suggestion is to look around and find one that you like best.

Re: Is this really a super dwarf?
Hi,
I don't have any personal experience w/PP, but did have a SD. Kaa wasn't that dark, but I imagine just like other retics, colors vary by individual. SD is species, size being small....nothing to do with color. When I bought Kaa 4?5? yrs ago, I paid just over $500 for him, but he was 3 yo. (full grown) and WC. I imagine these few years later, there's more CB animals in the hobby, and thus they'll cost less.
Some of the other retic ppl might have a better idea how PP is to deal with.

Thanks guys... I didn't realize that their colors were that variable.
I haven't decided to take the plunge yet, but I think a SD would be fun to keep around for a pet.

I emailed him earlier, and waiting to hear back. I've heard good things about him too.

If you're talking about Garrick DeMeyer, I've dealt with him and he's absolutely wonderful. Great experience and great animal.
