    size and feeding Q.

i already posted pics and got some good advise in this thread http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...d.php?t=119607 but after reading around here i think she may be a little small she is 38 inches and 890 grams and i was told she is about 3 years old. is this small?

also i was wondering about how much to feed her. i fed her 1 small rat and it didnt leave a lump but a med rat looked to big. should i fed her a couple smalls next week or just give her 1 med? thanks so much for the help

    Re: size and feeding Q.

A small rat for an animal that size is just fine.

As far as the size it is a bit small, the first thing I would do is double check the sex and make sure it is a female (given the size it could be a male).

If properly sex the small size can be due to various thing.

    Animal being previously underfed

    Picky feeder

Inability to gain wait due to internal parasites (in that case I would have a fecal done)

I have 2 females 3 and 4 years old who are respectively 800+ grams and 1100 grams, they are healthy however they do not eat as often of my other animal.

well you can get a fecal done just to make sure but if it was not properly taken care of in the first place that could be the reason for the size as well. Lots of ppl make mistakes when checking the sex.....
