    First Clutch

This is our first clutch of the year for us. Meet Bertha when we picked her up in Dec 09 she weighed over 4000 grams! This morning she laid a 1200+ gram 11 egg clutch. We bought her from a guy who had her in a neodesha type box cage in his barn with 2 other smaller normal ball pythons. In late feb. after her quarintine we put our super pastel male in with her to see if she would take. So we will either get pastels or normals out of this clutch!

Correct me if I'm wrong but you will actually get 100% pastels from a super to normal. Either way congrats, that's one BIG girl!

Yeah, if you bred a super to a normal you get all pastels. I guess that makes this cluth even better.
Just 0.1 normal BP, 1.0 mojave, 0.1 California King, 0.1 Saharan sand boa, ~20 hermit crabs, a Patriot crab, 5.0 rats, and a herd of mice and ASFs

I think they meant that they weren't sure if they bred with the normals their original owner had in there with her, or the super pastel they put in with her. If one of the normal males was who she bred with, they will get a normal clutch, and if the super pastel then they'll get a pastel clutch..

But I might have read it wrong.

Haha, for some reason I thought the OP said that Bertha was in with two other females... I guess I read it wrong. You're right, yeah.

    Re: First Clutch

I read it to be that either the clutch will be normals, or all Pastels.

    Good luck, Kel!

    Re: First Clutch

Congrats!!! Good luck!!! I hope your super pastel got her!!!

And yes, I think she meant that either she was already bred by the normals she was with, or the super pastel got her. If the super pastel bred her she would get all pastels, but if the normal bred her, all normals. So that's why it will be all normals OR all pastels (unless it's a two sire cultch)

    Re: First Clutch

Thanks everyone for the congrats. Sorry for the confusion. Bertha was in with 2 male normals. I put her with a super pastel so.... if the super is the father of the whole clutch I will get all pastels, if one or more of the normals is the father I will get normals. If superman only sires part of the clutch i will get both. I have my fingers crossed for superman but either way eggs are super exciting!

Especially this clutch it is the biggest I have ever seen in person both in egg size and number of eggs.
