crazy
ok, last night the snake kept me up most of the night, he was borrowing under his hide, coming out the back then hed go around the cage and up towards the lid ( 20 gal long tank ) then go back and dig out from under his hide again, at one point he looked over at me and yawned, I had been feeding him on Sundays the past three weeks so Im thinking he is hungry, it was mothers day and I didnt get up to get him a rat yesterday but i did it right after work today, came home got him out of his hide, took the log out and put in the rat, the snake struck at the rat about three times but didnt grab it. then yawned again and opened his mout about half way a couple of times, then he and the rat had a stare down, the rat in the corner and the snake in the middle of the cage for about 20 minutes, then I took the rat out and put the hide back in and now hes in his hide. any guesses to whats up with this snake? he's a little over two years old I believe and my nephew said he never had a problem feeding him.

1) Did you feed him earlier than normal (for instance when he'd normally be sleeping, being nocturnal and all) and 2) how long did you pre-scent before tossing the rodent in?
Likely he was simply sleeping before you yanked him out of bed and tossed in a hostile visitor, and he didn't appreciate the meal for what it was.

That makes sense, it was probable about 6 in the evening. About the same time as last time but a day late, Ill try it again tonight about midnight when he's up. It was just strange he tagged it like three times then the rat hid in the corner and he was partially coiled watching it. Im still learning so everytime the snake does something that I think is "different" or "strange" I think something is wrong. I sat up watching him last night after reading some other post seeing if he might have a R.I but when his tongue comes out its pretty quick. How do you pre scent?

Re: crazy
leave the food in the room i leave my f/t on top of the lid next to a light so its warm and he gets a sniff through the hole the light sits in. just put yours in an escape proof tub with airholes next to your snakes tub for a good while. hey i may be new but im learning lol
