Picky Male
So my male has been fasting since November. We bought/rescued him in July. The woman we bought him from was feeding large live rats... We went with F/T and he took three med rats inconsistently until November. I then gave in to him and gave him a small live rat. He took the first one so I gave him another, because it was quite small for him. I offered him a few more live meals bi-weekly, all of which he refused. Haven't offered a meal since April 15th, assuming he's off feed. He hasn't shown any signs of being hungry.
Should I stop offering live and keep offering P/K until he caves or what? I'm getting so frustrated with this guy. He hasn't taken any P/K since we switched to tubs.

Re: Picky Male
So the snake has not eaten a thing since November? How large is the snake? I am assuming it is a monster if it takes large rats.
Could you list the husbandry? Any trouble there? Anything that could be stressing him out in the new enclosure? Any females around making him want to breed?
I'd probably live him be. Don't offer for a while. But keep up the f/t. He'll give in.

Does he have a hide in the tub?

Re: Picky Male
He took two small rats in March. And no, he's actually not that big. The vet estimated him to be about five y/o. I'm not sure of his weight but he should be on med. rats. His old owner was just ignorant.
Husbandry is fine. 92-94 hot spot, 80-85 ambient temps, 65-70 humidity. Newspaper for substrate, water dish, one hide, accurite therm/hygrom.
And yes, I have a female as well. They were rescued at the same time from the same woman who had been keeping them in a 55 gallon tank without heat, hides, and humidity. They were both sick with RIs and my female had mouth rot from a rat bite (DUH thats what happens when you leave two large rats in your enclosure overnight with sick snakes). Zeus is kept on top of a dresser and Louise is in the spot where a drawer would have been.
My female is kept in the exact same set up and she eats every week without fail.
*Edit* Louise is a bit larger but likes less space so she's kept in a 34qt tub, and Zeus constantly tried to escape his 34qt so we uped him to a 40qt. It has a bit more space and he adjusted to it almost immediately.
