Shared housing
If you only had one tub open, and picked up 2 big girls from the same place, is it a problem to house them together in the same tub for a couple weeks?

Re: Shared housing
If you only had space for 1 snake, why did you purchase 2?
I know how I like to do things, and I personally would not house two snakes together for a few weeks. A few days maybe, a week at most if I absolutely had to, but I like to keep my snakes separate.
Why not go out and get another tub for the 2nd female?

WELL I DOUBT THEY ARE GOING TO EAT EACH OTHER BUT I WOULD BE LEARY. FOR 2 REASONS.
1. ONE OR BOTH OF SNAKES MAY GO OFF FEED DUE TO BEING STRESS.
2. IF ONE HAS MITES OR IS SICK NOW YOU HAVE TO TREAT 2 SNAKES
I WOULD NOT DO IT BECAUSE OF THE 2 REASONS ABOVE. I WOULD BUY A CHEAP STERLITE 41 BIN A HEATING PAD OR TAPE AND CALL IT A DAY UNTIL YOU GET MORE ROOM....... HOOK IT UP TO A THERMOSTAT.

Re: Shared housing
I've always gone by the motto
"If I don't have a home for it I don't bring it home"
I've shared heat pads with multiple tubs, but I don't allow them to share tubs.

Re: Shared housing
For pet stores that sell pythons, I would think they would all be purchased either really stressed or sick because they keep anywhere from 1 - 5 snakes in a single tank.

Re: Shared housing
Settle down a bit!
This was just a curiosity question. Stems from a friend's suggestion. I just thought I'd ask opinions. Sheesh!
BTW, Thanks for your answers. They go along with what I think, too.

You can bet they are stressed out and or sick.
The local pet store at the mall here keeps 3-5 snakes in a ten gallon tank with an overhead light for heat
They don't like it when I question their ethics and husbandry though

" IF YOU ONLY HAD SPACE FOR 1 SNAKE, WHY DID YOU PURCHASE 2? MAYBE IT WAS TOO GOOD OF A DEAL ON BOTH SNAKES.. BUT YOUR QUOTE IS SOOO TRUE AND I HAVE TO ADMIT.... I FELL VICTIM TO THIS IN THE BEGINNING OF MY COLLECTION. I HAD BROUGHT 2 FEMALES KNOWING I ONLY HAD SPACE FOR ONE AND HOUSE THEM TOGETHER FOR 2 DAYS. I WAS SOOO LEARY DOUBLE CHECKING TRIPLE CHECKING. THE STRESS ALMOST TOOK OVER ME LOL! MY FRIEND HAD "NINE FEMALES" IN A 150 GALLON! TOLD HIM NOT TO DO IT BUT HE DID IT ANYWAY,BUT YOU CANT TELL DUMB DUDES WITH MONEY ANYTHING.... BROUGHT ANOTHER ONE FROM EXPO " TICK INFESTED" AND DESTROYED HIS WHOLE COLLECTION! ALBINO, CLOWN, BUMBLE BEE, IVORY,SPIDER,MOJAVE AND 4 NORMALS ...TICKS IN EYES AND MOUTH. THEY WERE TO TO TO TO FAR ALONG AND INFESTED BADLY. HE SOAK THE CLOWN TO GET TICKS OFF AND SHE DIED RIGHT IN THE WATER! TO MAKE ALONG STORY SHORT THEY ALL DIED! HIS COLLECTION BEAT MINES HANDS DOWN BUT YOU KNOW WHAT ALL OF MY SNAKES ARE ALIVE! LIVING SINGLE IS THE BEST LOL!
