    Quick (dumb) question

Im not using tubs YET but im a little cofused about the heating.

Why should the ambient temp really matter if your heating both sides of the tub/tank with uths?

if the snake goes on the uths wont that heat him/her up enough?

I only heat one side of the tub. Then the snake has the choice between the cool ambient-temp side and the warm, UTH heated side.

In a tub setup, you usually only heat one side of the tub. The ambient temperature matters because if it is too low your snake can get a respiratory infection.

As long as there is a temperature gradient then its fine. The ambient should be raised enough by the two heat mats and the tub itself holds heat pretty well.
