Monitor hearing
How well do monitors hear? Do they startle by loud noises? Reason I ask is my monitors set up is in the same room where all my guitars and rigs are. I have yet to play in that room since I got him because I'm not sure how he would react to the noises.
Thanks.

Re: Monitor hearing
They hear VERY well and some might flip out while others might not. My Sav has always gotten scared to death and hides if I crank the stereo up. My Ackies dont seem to care or notice one bit.
The tristis and timors ive kept would also startle and bolt for cover at anything louder then a pin drop.

Re: Monitor hearing
I will certainly tell you that they can absolutely hear, and very well. Mine know the crinkle sound of a bag, and they are out and ready to go because they think they are getting fed. And my Nile monitor just hears everything in general, when someone other then me goes to check him out, he will either run for cover, or it he is up on the rocks basking, he is prepared to whip his tail.

Re: Monitor hearing
Not only do they hear incredibly well, they can become accustomed to certain sounds, or "cues". The shaking of the "shake & bake" cricket/vitamin bag alerts my ackies to feeding time. The call of "treats" lets my Ornate know it's feeding time for him.
