    Feeding concern.

Fed my ball today. Feeding response was great. He took the mouse head first like usual but he swallowed the mouse sideways not belly down or belly up completely sideways. Is there reason to be concerned about this? He seems to be acting fine but I dont want the claws to scratch something inside or something to happen to him. Just me being my usually worried self... Any and all help is appreciated.

It's fine, as long as it doesn't regurgitate. My own ball python has several times eaten mice from all sorts of directions.

    What size was the feeder?

Usually a ball will swallow it a weird way if it is too small. The only time I saw a ball python swallow something sideways was when it was fed a small pinky mouse.

Going down sideways is nothing to be concerned about, but under feeding your snake is.

    Re: Feeding concern.

I feed him every 7 days. Every Monday. It was an adult mouse. I currently dont have a scale so Ive been doing the girth thing and the mouse is the same size if not a little bigger in girth then my BP.
