Separating Eggs

I have a clutch in the incubator that has a couple eggs attached together. They were laid about 10 days ago. I believe that one of the eggs that is attached is infertile. How would I go about separating it from the fertile egg it is attached to?

I wouldn't really be worried about it, but I'm afraid the infertile egg is beginning to rot. The egg tub has a distinct smell and I believe it is coming from that egg. Will infertile eggs begin to rot and smell?

The egg looks perfectly normal on the outside but when candled is clear throughout with no veins.

Any advice?

Just leave it. It's very hard and dangerous for the good eggs if you remove one, you could tear a good egg.

Nothing bad should happen if it rots, the good ones should still stay fine.

Leave it it'll be fine. If you do end up tearing an egg white duct tape works wonders

They can be seperated with a very slow and steady hand and some fine dental floss right after they the snake lays them but if it does not come apart easily I wouldnt even try it. My 2 infertile eggs are still in the bator. The one that is attached to another fertile egg is completely yellow with no spot at all inside it. The other had a very small red spot and 1 or 2 tiny veins but was still completely yellow inside. I left that one in case it develops a small late baby.

The bad ones are more prone to developing mold. If you see any mold spots apply some althetes foot powder with a Qtip to prevent any mold from spreading to the good eggs. You can get little containers of this powder at walgreens or walmart.

The bad eggs will not harm the good eggs! I wouldn't even take the chance to seperate them!

Once eggs have been stuck together for a while it can be hard to get them apart. Here are some pics of a clutch from last year with one bad egg in the middle of the clutch. All of the other eggs hatched just fine. Some of the fluid in the surrounding eggs was darker, but it didn't seem to cause any problems.
