    Shedding Problem?

So my BP has been shedding for about 2.5 weeks now....The skin on his head over his eyes are off but it doesnt seem like he is trying to shed. His skin is the color it should be but it has been like that for a while. Ive been keeping the humidity at around 70% so hopefully it isnt that. Is this common?

    Hi,

Have a look at our bad shed sticky - that should give you some good ideas on how to proceed.

Its not like this though. It seems like he has stopped his shedding process because other parts of his body hasnt shed yet. Only his head.

That is called a stuck shed. You will need to remove it for him.
usually when they start to remove the skin, it is all off within a couple hours. If it is still stuck on after that, it is a bad shed.

It should all come off in one piece.

Next time he goes into shed, make sure your humidity is around 70%.

I've seen it before in low-humidity cages, sometimes I've seen it so bad the ball only got it off the tip of his nose.

Make sure humidity is at a good level, bad stuck sheds, if left on can irritate the healthy scales underneath.

I moved to tubs, never had a problem since.

It seems like I have a stuck shed. It is stuck near its eyes. Im going to try to put him in a bath and use the instructions on the sticky. Anymore tips?

Try to keep the ambient temp up in the enclosure and he might be able to take some off himself.
