Victory! First Time Eater!
Had my first BP for about 2.5 weeks now, and after the 2nd attempt feeding was a success!
Forgive me for being very excited.. I had been worried after the first attempt went so bad and its just an overall great feeling to get the first feeding out of the way.
Part of my problem was that I knew it was used to eating live food and I was trying the switch to F/T. The snake is not in great health by ways of being a little underfed, so this is one step towards raising this baby to a healthy adult.
I do have a question too.. He just ate and is really restless inside his hide. Keeps coming out half way and while still being horizontal, he raises his body a few inches off the ground.. Very weird.
And he just keeps coming in and out of his cold hide with the first part of his body.
Helping to swallow perhaps?
Thanks guys!

Nobody has any ideas why he is acting restless after feeding?

They usualy stick their heads out of their hides while resting. But when they raise their body some off the ground, that is more of an aggressive/defensive stance. Try leaving him alone for some more time, don't go near him so much.

Re: Victory! First Time Eater!
I was spying on him and pretty sure he didnt see or sense me near by when he was doing it.
He ate one fuzzy that i did the mouse dance with after heating, the second one i just dropped in the tank hoping he would eat after the first one but never did..
Could it be possible that his aggressive/defensive stance was in response to the thawed mouse in the tank? He didnt do that the first feeding attempt where i left it over night.. He only attacked the one I made "life like".
Just wanna make sure he is ok and feels safe..

How big and heavy is this snake?
Most hatchlings are started out on hoppers. the snake is probably still hungry.

Re: Victory! First Time Eater!
97 ounces. Age is unknown but I think around 3-6 months if I had to guess.
I was told fuzzies would be good for a few months.
If they are too small, should I try 2 at a time instead? Or maybe a short (3-5 day) feed cycle for now?
Perhaps a little premature, but I had already bought a 100 count of frozen fuzzies, so i would like to use them as much as possible before having to get something bigger.
What would you suggest if this is the case? I got my new friend from an evil pet store and just felt bad and really wanted to give the snake a better home. I understand that isnt helping the situation, but I was impulsive at the time..
Thanks a bunch for your replies.. Hope you found your escaped snake before your move BTW..
