    A Hissing Snake?

Our BP has been getting under his water bowl recently and sleeping so I went to take him out of the enclosure today so I could put a new hide on the cool side and he started hissing at me like crazy.

He's never done this before, as soon as I had him picked up and in my hand he was all chill, but then i had to move him so I could put the water bowl back and he started hissing like crazy again.

Why would he behave this way? Its different from what Im used to with him I guess

Is there Koolaid in the water? Maybe he is just like "Dont touch my Koolaid!"

But seriously I'm not sure. Kinda hard to tell what a snake is "thinking"

If your husbandry temps/humidity and such are good then he's probably just having a bad day. I have a couple that hiss every time I open the rack. They stop when I pick them up every time.

That might be it. Right now he's crawling all over the new hide, its just a temporary one until I can get out and get him an identical one to the original.
I've changed out the water bowl as well to a slightly heavier one to see if I can keep him from gettin under it lol

Is he showing any signs of shedding? Only time I've heard my BP's hiss was when they were in shed and very defensive.

Nope, he shed about 2 weeks ago anyway, so he shouldnt be ready to shed again yet should he?

Same here. They just have an attitude. I wouldn't worry about it. My guy has hissed since day one and now he's just about 2 years old and has never gone a day without hissing.

Like I said, I think I was just wondering because he's not done it in the past, least not with me.

Might also be cause I woke him up to move the water bowl
