Air injested while eating, or RI?
My spider just ate recently, and then took a nice big pooh, so I had to handle him while cleaning. When I picked him up, I could feel air shifting around from the underside of his belly... it felt kind of like a gurgle or something. Hard to explain, but I've never noticed it before. He hasn't been popping and since I felt it (earlier this morning), Ive been listening for sneezing, but I haven't heard anything yet. Could it be I've caught a RI early on, or is it normal for snakes to be... gassy after eating? I know that a snake wouldn't eat if it was feeling ill, but at the same time, my spider's the biggest pig I've ever come across and will eat unless he's a death's door.
I wouldn't be afraid about an RI, but about a week ago I had discovered that his uth mat had died, and I don't know how long it was out for. It couldn't have been more than a couple of days, because I try to check his temps regularly.
Just thought I'd play it safe and ask.

It may be the "recent feed" being digested and processed...

While handling some of my Blood Pythons, I've noticed "air" like spots in them that will gurgle.
I noticed it quite a bit this year palpating.

Digesting food sometimes creates gasses. You didn't feed him beans, right? ^_^
