    New BP Owner - What does blushing mean?

    I keep hearing people say "nice blushing". not sure what that means??

    Blushing is when the center of black areas of a ball python has color "blushing" through it. Check out the first ball python in this link to see some good blushing on a normal.

    I like seeing blushing in a nice pastel (google it). Here's a pic of my ghost that has some nice blushing:

    Like was said above blushing is the light areas along the dorsal (spine) for the animal.. it can be faint color difference. Or it can be extreme like these two. Notice the really ligh areas on their back almost looks like the color was erased..thats blushing

    There's blushing, labeled. I think the term is really quite inaccurate, and might be better called 'fading', but that's what it is.

    I already know what "blushing" is but I'm curious to find out if the blushing will have any impact on the offspring when breeding?

    It can. Just like your parents genetics affect yours (obviously) a parent with high blushing has a higher chance of throwing offspring with high blushing. Will they always? No, but it's much more likely to happen.
