    Breeding Pet Store Snakes

Finally able to keep snakes again. Was out of the game due to living conditions for about a year. Went and bought 1.0 400g spider and 0.1 1700g normal. I bought these snakes from a pet store, just wondering if it makes a difference on breeding bc they was both housed with other snakes for awhile due to them being from a pet store.

No problem at all as long as theres no health issues. Once their healthy enough to breed then they can breed.

    Re: Breeding Pet Store Snakes

By the time the next breeding season roles around you'll have had a long enough quarentine that if any illness is lurking around you should see it.
One issue is you don't know their history, so you can't tell the people you sell the offspring to what their background is. Hopefully this won't be a problem, it all depends on the person you sell to and what their purpose for the animal is. As long as your honest and produce good quality, healthy animals, you should do fine!

    Re: Breeding Pet Store Snakes

I don't see a problem with breeding them. Pet store snakes aren't any different than buying from a breeder or an importer. Some ball pythons in pet stores actually come from breeders who want to get rid of their normals. I'm guessing both of yours came from a breeder or someone who didn't want them anymore.

Just make sure you really watch the female for at least 2-3 months. You want to be sure she's in top notch condition. You might as well keep an eye on her till this coming breeding season.
