Exclamation need quick answer&opinion pls- collection worth

    Hi again!
I am having major back surgery soon. I am reluctantly having to rehome all or some of my small, hobby not breeding, collection. I just don't know how much I should be asking or how many to rehome.

    Here is what I have:
3 unknown sex Adults normals - one is a het but I can't remember to which morph
2 m&f 5mo normals - I'm not that great with genetics so I'll tell you what their parents are- f is from spider ball and pastel, m is from ghost pairing
(what would this pairing make the m&f?)

Now for your next educated opinion
I am only a couple of years into my hobby. I absolutely love my snakes but like I said I have to have major back surgery. It will take a month to be able to sit up for 1hr and them physical therapy at 6wks. While recovering the care will go directly to my fiance which doesn't really care for them.
When I say he doesn't really care for them I mean he doesn't think they make good pets b/c when he was growing up his mom kept lots of reptiles and I think he is burned out. He would prefer a dog or cat that "have a personality". I'm not saying I agree with him or want to start a discussion on if snakes have personalities. I am also not saying that he won't do a good job. He will happily do it for me if I decide to keep them. I just want to put all of the factors out there so I can get a good opinion. But do I want to feel like I am burdening him.
My son(8) is also obsessed with reptiles. Although he has his own tortoise I'm afraid I am going to discourage that passion if I rehome all of them.

So, to recap, here is what I need your opinion on:
    A. What is my collection worth if I do decide to rehome them all. I got an offer from a breeder, he doesn't know about the possible hets, for $100all but I'm thinking that is pretty cheap!

    B. Should I rehome all or some based on the situation.

    C. Should I get out of snakes while I have the chance and focus on birds which is more agreeable to my fiance. We have a Blue Front Amazon so I could change my hobby to birds after my surgery.

I have always gotten great info from you guys so I hope I'm not asking for too much here. I am just driving myself crazy with this decision and I need outside help ASAP!!
Thank You Sooooooooooo Much in Advance!!!!

My suggestion is that you find out more about the animals first. 100.00 for all animals is dirt cheap even for normals that are grown. Females can be sold as breeders to someone who is breeding. The het needs to be identified so you can market it to someone who can use it, also the sex of the het is important. Information may make the difference between 100.00 for the lot and 1000.00 or more in your pocket.

3 unknown sex Adults normals - one is a het but I can't remember to which morph
75.00 each.. Unsex normals that one might be a het for some morph.. then their just normals

2 m&f 5mo normals - I'm not that great with genetics so I'll tell you what their parents are- f is from spider ball and pastel, m is from ghost pairing
(what would this pairing make the m&f?)
females are normals 50.00 at most pet stores.
Now the male would be worth more it you have the paperwork form the breeder to prove that he is infact a 100% het ghost.. if not 25.00 for a normal male..

    hope that helps..

    Thank you for replying!
Here is a run down of where I got them and what I know about them. I never intended on selling them when I got them, I always had a thought of maybe breeding one day.
Adult #1 - came from a guy who had just moved here from Florida and didn't have time anymore due to job. He said he/she was from a breeder in Florida and what the het was but I forgot it was 2 yrs ago.
Adult #2 - came from a garage sale in terrible shape. He/she is now fat and beautiful.
Adult #3 - came from a guy who also didn't have time. He/she was pretty skinny and is now fat and beautiful.

I have no way of knowing the background of adult #2&3 and no way to get in touch with previous owner of #1.

Baby f&m - came from a local breeder whom I still talk to even after the sale of the snakes. So I could get the paperwork to prove the male.

I don't quite understand the first part of the second post. Any indexed normal is $75? I hope this helps! Thanks again!!

I'd let your son keep the turtle at least. I think it's so important for kids to know the truth about all reptiles since so many parents despise them and then tell their kids false truths about all reptiles. I'm happy to read that you got your son into reptiles!

I totally understand your back situation. My dad's back is broken in 3 places from a work accident and it took him a year and a half to semi-recover. I definitely sympathize for, and with you. If you do decide to give up your snakes, your doing it for the right reason - you won't be able to care for them during your recovery. But, I don't think you should give up your hobby all together. When you fall in love with reptiles, that love never dies. Birds are beautiful, but if they don't appeal to you the way reptiles do, your heart will never fully be into them. My heart belongs to cats and reptiles. I could give up my cats for a dog if I had to, but it just wouldn't be the same and I'd go back to cats again anyway. (that's my analogy since I'm allergic to birds ).

Or, keep your snakes, and since your fiance is familiar with them, maybe he could take care of them during your recovery. When you are better, you could take over the snakes, and he could have his birds. That way, you are both happy, and your son of course would be thrilled.

IMO keep them. Give some of the responsibility (perhaps changing water) to your son. Let your fiance have his birds. Everyone's happy.
