We took in a rescue a few weeks ago. The previous owner stated she fed the snake every 3 or 4 weeks, "or so". The snake is about 6 years old and 1100 grams. When we got her, she was in the blue, so we wanted to wait to feed her even tho she was starving. Finally yesterday we decided that even tho she hadn't shed, we were going to try feeding her anyway. We knew she would die soon if we didn't.

We got her a medium rat and she struck at it before the rat hit the ground. She struck at it 3 times before she finally grabbed it. In the process, she hit the side of her feeding box so hard she put a hole right through it. (yes we feed live and outside of the enclosure. Please no debates, we just want to share this story with you all).

Today, after many times checking on her, we saw her moving around. We lifted up her hide, and saw that she was shedding! She just finished awhile ago. It's not one piece, but it's big pieces, which is not what we expected. This little lady is on her way to being healthy again! We are so happy that we are bringing her back to health!
