What species of Monitor is this?

At the sanctuary where I volunteer at, we have a couple of these along with some other crazy monitors like Timors, Ackies, Crocs, Savs, Niles, Black Throats, etc.

But anyways, I was curious to know what the name of this species is. They have this baby blue color on their snout and are black & yellow. They look super cool but are pretty mean monitors LOL

Id say a lace monitor. But not really sure.

As for volunteering at the sanctuary, that must be awsome. My house is probably the closest place with a number of exotics for 100+ miles. I would die to work at a place with a number of reptiles. Ive applied to veterinary offices and some other places, but with the economy low the vet's havent need anyone and the other places needed 2 years of college bio. But when i go off to college next year and start pre-vet, hopefully i will be able to get a job working with animals.

Volunteering is so much fun because you get to interact with all kinds of different species. I've seen tons of reptiles that I have never even heard of LOL.

Being a vet seems awesome, I actually wouldn't mind being a herp vet

Yeah, Id love to be specialize in herpetology, but i think im going to go for exotic species in general. I can't wait to open an office and see all the different species everyday. The only bad part is waiting and going through all the schooling. Im sure ill have some great experiences with some animals in my graduate years, if not my undergrad years.

School is definitely a drag, that's why I'm thinking "uggghh" about wanting to keep going to school to learn herpetology or veterinarian stuff.

I think I'd wanna own my own python & boa store and breed pythons & boas so I can sell em. I'll breed different species of boas and pythons of all sizes and sell em. Sounds like a fun idea IMO.

Haha deffinetly sounds like a fun thing to do. But a great education is an invalueable thing. And going to school to get a solid job can give rise to a side job breeding different species, and you wont have to rely on your love of the hobby to provide money. I know ill have a great big snake room, or maybe a snake basement. But to keep the girlfriend happy I've promised her a big walkin closet. I mean if the boss isn't happy, no one is.

Yeah those monitors are gorgeous but they are just so moody! That monitor always tries to come at you behind the glass LOL

Haha. My girlfriend actually loves all my snakes. She went to the white plains expo with me a few months ago and she loved it. I've told her i wouldnt be able to date her if she hated all the animals.
