100$ for this male pastel a good price?
First, $100 for a male is not a bad price but you could do better as far as quality. Secondly, if you intend to breed to sell the offspring, then buying low quality snakes will not get you far. Thirdly, that is a pastel, but it is already browning out and will not be an attractive adult.

I say get it. It is a Pastel, and $100 for that size is a good price.
Just make sure it is taken care of and has no health issues. I personally think its pretty good looking for his size.

Re: Is this a good pastel?
I have seen better looking pastels for cheaper :/ I would wait and find a pastel that looks a little more vibrant and isn't so browned out.
You can find beautiful male pastels for the same price. Keep watching kingsnake and fauna classifieds.

Re: Is this a good pastel?
As a new breeder, well future breeder myself, let me tell you with BPs, you get what you pay for.
If you buy the cheapest morphs you can find, your going to end up with a lot of poor adults who are going to make poor babies who are going to have to be sold cheap because no one will want them when there are much more beautiful babies to be had.
I took my time, saved my pennies, invested in the best examples of each morph available to me in my area, and I am confident that as they mature into beautiful adults, they will produce me stunning babies that will command a pretty penny one day, and be an excellent return on my investment.
Granted, I do have a big pastel male who's nothing special, but he's an exception to the rule, and I most likely will not even breed him.
I guess what I'm saying is, there are so many small breeders popping up all the time, you really need to have something special to compete with the big breeders. Be picky about the snakes you get now, and you'll be rewarded one day.
